Originally bred from larger Spitz-type dogs, Pomeranians were used as working dogs before being bred down to their current size.
Weighing between 3 to 7 pounds and standing about 6 to 7 inches tall, Pomeranians are compact yet sturdy. Their most distinctive feature is their thick, fluffy double coat, which comes in a variety of colors including orange, black, white, blue, red, and more.
